About Marta Pereira, Associate Director
Marta is an immigrant from Costa Rica and has been in Minnesota for 23 years. She started her theological, ministry, and spiritual formation in Costa Rica and served the Church there and in Puerto Rico, where she lived for several years as part of her missionary work.
Her journey at 欧美无码 started as an international student and a Latino Leadership Program undergraduate with majors in theology and Catholic studies. She holds a master's degree in theology from the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity, a graduate certificate in pastoral ministry from St. Catherine 欧美无码, and a doctorate in education with a concentration in leadership. Her doctoral dissertation explored the role of campus ministry and mission integration in Catholic higher education.
Before her time at St Thomas, Marta worked for Latino ministries at the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and as a campus minister at St. Catherine 欧美无码.
In her current position she serves campus ministry supporting cultural initiatives with Latino and African students, as well as the spirituality initiatives including the Retreat Program. She also directs the Lay Ministry Certificate program in the Department of Theology.
Marta loves a good cup of coffee every morning and to walk her dog Loki when it is not too cold outside. She has four kids in their teenage and college years with whom she loves to travel to experience other cultures and traditions. She is passionate about her faith and is grateful for her calling to ministry and the ways this work has shaped and fulfilled her life.
